We organize interesting and educational free-of-charge programe for kids during school holidays in our Youth Center Nova Gorica.

The programe take place in our center every day from 7:00 to 16:30. Program is for children from 6  to 12  years of age.

Holiday child care program is a range of thematic content (ecology, healthy food - sports and healthy lifestyle, history, astronomy, science, life in the city, multimedia). Children learn these thematic content through play, walking, cognitive hours and workshops.

 1. CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

Children develop manual skills and creative ideas at creative workshops. Children calm down and integrate into the group. Children make different products which show their success. They are filled with a sense of confidence which have a positive impact on their self-esteem. We create predominantly from recycled materials, giving our program ecological significance.

 2. SPORTS HOURS

Sport and exercise are the most important activities for a healthy and balanced development of a child. Youth Center Nova Gorica  ensures that children are in the fresh air and moving all the time. Of course not forget the sunscreen, healthy food (fruit), drinking enough water and protection against ticks.

3. DIRECTOR SPEAKS EVERY WEEK TO THE CHILDREN AND WISHES THEM A SENCERE WELCOME

The children get familiar with the rules of behavior in our center, behaviour in the restaurant and in the street. We familiarize children with safe walking down the street, safety behaviour in the woods and at the pool.

4. SOCIAL GAMES

We give great emphasis on social games during our holiday program. Social games present the form of fun for children, which are not a computer or television. Children feel the group dynamics and connect with each other, which has enormous impact on socialization effects.

5. FAIRY TALES HOUR

We give great emphasis on reading fairy tales in our program. Children develop vocabulary, imagination and experience old wisdom.

6.THEATRE HOURS

The children in our holiday program present a theatre play for their parents. The play is about a topic of that holiday week. Children get used to public speaking and appearance, which positively affects their self-esteem. Each game has a theatrical dance choreography, in which children develop coordination body to the beat.

7. SCIENTIFIC SECTION

We strive to demonstrate the nature to the children during our program, especially animals and plants, relationship between man and nature and important environmental issues.

8. COMPUTER HOURS

We also take care that children have fun by playing computer games during our holiday program. We use this opportunity to familiarize them with the safe use of  internet. We also prepare a short course for young children about basic computer skills.

9. SAFE POINTS VISIT

We visit SAFE POINTS in the town where children can find help in different harmful situations (the invitation of strangers, violence against children, traffic accidents). We are always well received at a safe point before the club KID - child child-friendly where Mrs. Majda Smrekar explains her experiences.

10. SUMMER at the SWIMMING POOL

We take children in summer two times per week at swimming pool which is located near our Youth center.
